headcanons
Name; Since we all know Dipper is just a nickname. I like to think his name starts with an M, to match Mabel. Some of my favourites are Maxwell, Matthew, and Martin. Also Mackenzie or Madison if you want to go the "he goes by Dipper bc his first name is embarrassing" route.
Birthday; August 21st
Height; Between 4'2 and 4'6. I put it as 4'2.9 in a game once because Mabel's was 4'3, heh.
Build; A lil' tiny bit tubby, with stick arms but his legs are fit.
Hair type; Very thick, grows fast-ish. It probably gets tangled and knots in it a lot, and Mabel has to comb them out (to which he whines about while she's doing so).
Favourites;
Food; Homemade meals! Specifically something like Mac and Cheese. He has a surprisingly childish pallet (he doesn't even like vegetables or fruit all that much!)
Color; Red!
Season; Probably autumn. It's not too hot and not too cold.
Holiday; Halloween, obviously.
Drink; Soda, specifically cola! He probably likes cherry or strawberry soda, too.
Video Game; I think he'd like side scrollers and puzzle/adventure games the most. Fighting games coming after. (He's really good at playing video games, and he plays practically. Using codes and special combos rather than just button mashing.)
Movie Genre; Of course MYSTERIES and cool action movies. He also likes watching documentary's and he's a sci-fi buff.
Music; It's been talked about that his favourite band is a nerd-rock band, so his favourite genre naturally is rock. But I imagine more like college, new-adge rock. I don't think he specifically likes nerd-rock, but it's like under the branch of the rock he does like. (Also of course he listens to the top 40 hits. I also think he'd like nerd-core)
Least Favourites;
Food; As I said earlier, he's not a big veggie/fruit kinda guy. He'll eat them if he has to but he'd rather not. Also he likes meat but he also dislikes meat bc he has a habit of taking bites that are far too big and so they take forever to chew.
Color; Bright ass yellow and pastel colors. They're too light..
Season; Spring, because that's allergy season.
Holiday; Christmas. He's a total stooge. He likes it bc he can stay home and hang out with his family and get presents, but he dislikes it bc its so commercial. Ads everywhere, people hurting each other to get gifts for their family and friends, and his parents probably get him the wrong present each year. (For the record he still believes in Santa, but he believes Santa is helly fucking creepy for sneaking into houses and he used to do stakeouts with Mabel as a kid until they caught their parents giving out presents. He still.. secretly thinks Santa's around somewhere though.)
Drink; Coffee. He drinks it for the aesthetic and bc it makes him seem mature and cool but its just so bitter.
Video Game; Games where you just fight monsters and level up and do quests to level up and fight more monsters. He doesn't like MMOs very much.
Movie Genre; ROMANCE. CHEESY. ROMANCE. He's the kind to go "Ewwwwwwwwwww" at kissing scenes and cover his eyes. And the dramatic stories make him roll his eyes.
Music; Country. Please god no emo farm music please god...
Miscellaneous;
Bad habits; Biting his nails, picking at scabs/band-aids, staying up far too late even on school nights, he's got a foot-in-mouth issue as well.
Cleanliness habits; He is a generally clean person, but he's very disorganized. Everything is everywhere and yet he always knows exactly where something is...
Nervous habits; Laughing, looking away from people's eyes, moving his arms around, eating food or drinking something if they're there.
Hobbies; Obviously mystery solving, playing video games, some quaint sports like golf or tennis, drawing, making lists of random things if he's really bored, exploring areas, and when they were younger he and Mabel would play pretend like he would be a monster and she'd have to kill him or vice versa.
Allergies; He doesn't have many allergies, but he is allergic to pollen and some metals. Also some kinds of peppers and seafood.
Fears; Puppets (obviously), some creepy crawlies like spiders and centipedes, and he's very, very scared of losing Mabel. Whether it be her dying or just drifting away from him. Also, he has a very big problem with his food touching. Like he cannot have his meat touching his veggies, his fries touching his burger, etc etc. They have many lunch trays back at home.
Art; He's not very artistic, besides drawing. From what we've seen of his drawings, he draws in the Gravity Falls style. Though other characters draw in their own cute styles, which leads me to think he actually draws realistically! Since yeah. Draws the same way the show is drawn...
An addendum..
1.) His name is William, as a common nickname for William is Bill. It might be shortened as Will or Willy, Billy. Or heck, even Liam would be a liable name. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if it was Liam, since it's a unique-ish name and it would probably take a few moments for someone to think about how Liam and William are connected, thus connecting Liam to Bill.
Also "Liam and Mabel" sounds hella cute for a pair of twins.
2.) My last theory is that his name is Stanley, after the grandpa who died/went MIA before he was born. I feel like this is really plausible, as it would make perfectly good sense for his name to not be mentioned in canon so far. Since it would be a good part of the plot, granted that the "Stan's twin" theory is correct (which I personally believe it is).
Though at the same time I feel as though Stanley might be too obvious, or too unfitting for Dipper? But it's still a theory I have and I'm super curious to finally learn what his first name is (ESPECIALLY SINCE I DON'T WANT TO JUST CHOOSE A HEADCANON NAME WHEN IT'S BROUGHT UP IN RP THAT'S NOT SOMETHING TO USE A HEADCANON FOR SINCE IT CAN BE SHOWN IN CANON AT ANY POINT AND TIME YELLS).
