Day two, after Yuya's explosion but before the trial.

[Well someone's body sure did explode. Dipper didn't even really need to investigate it, as it was plainly obvious what the cause of death was. But it was really confusing. He didn't seem to have gone anywhere with boundaries, so why did his bracelet detonate?

Dipper left to go look for Mabel, which took him longer than expected. But when he finally did catch her near the barracks, he took her arm and practically drug her into his dorm, closing the door behind the two.]

Whoa, wait, where are we going?

[She went along with him, tripping a little at first but she wasn't going to say no to her brother.]

Dipper what's going on?

[terci]

[He felt a little bad for startling his sister, but this was something important that needed to be brought up asap]

Who did you give a key to last night? [He crosses his arms, his expression looking worried.]

[ineptus]

[Oh okay. She really should have expected this conversation was going to come up, since everyone seemed to think it was them who did it...]

Nobody, Dipper! We didn't give a key to anyone...trust me, I would have told you first thing after that explosion if we did.

[terci]

You didn't give a key to anyone? [His arms fall limp to his sides, one of them going up to his temple in confusion.]

But he didn't cross any lines or anything! You said you rode every ride, which means the carousal is a safe place to be, right?

[ineptus]

Yeah! Obviously I didn't get blown up, and neither did the people I rode the carousel with. But I'm positive we didn't give it to anyone! Trust me, I'm just as confused as you. And pretty upset that everyone is so upset...I mean, I can't tell anyone it wasn't us...

If the VIPs somehow did that, how is anyone else supposed to know it was them if they think it was us?

[terci]

Yeah... that's a problem. [He walks over to his bed and sits down, thinking hard about this.]

Maybe the VIPs have some kind of detonator in their group, too... not that anyone else would think about it being anything but you guys. [Man that kind of stinks. He doesn't like the feeling of everyone thinking his sister is guilty for that explosion. They shouldn't even be mad at the detonators if they did give out keys, it wouldn't be their fault if that person decided to use it early.]

[ineptus]

...I hope not...I hope we're the only one, because I don't want these in the hands of wrong people...that's scary.

[She frowns, then looks up at Dipper with a conflicted expression.]

What do we tell everyone?

Iiiiii don't think it's a good idea to tell anyone anything, to be honest. I think it'd be better to be quiet about this for now, even if it sucks to have everyone mad at you and your partner.

[ineptus]

I don't care if they're mad, but Dipper if this is the work of the VIP and they just...sit around thinking it's our fault? Won't that put them all in danger?

[In truth she'd already talked to her partner about this, but she always wants a second opinion from her brother. Always.]

[terci]

Yeah.. [This was quite a pickle, wasn't it?]

...I could lie about being the detonator? I'll tell them I didn't give anyone keys last night, which will bring everyone's attention to the VIPs. And I mean, I don't think the VIPs would really kill a detonator, anyway, but I don't want you or your partner to be put in danger, y'know?

[ineptus]

No! [Mabel quickly grabs his shirt at that, her expression more severe than it was before.]

Even if they wouldn't, what if they try to execute you? Because they think you're working with the VIPs or something? Dipper you can't!

[terci]

[He carefully takes her hand and pulls it away from him, giving her a smile.]

Come on, they wouldn't really think the detonators are working with the VIPs if I explained everything clearly, would they? If I said I didn't give out a key and told them I was just as confused as they were, they'd believe me, right?

[ineptus]

Dipper promise me you won't! Please!

[She's worried about everyone else, yes, but Dipper's safety goes far above that...]

[terci]

But Mabel.. [Don't. Don't give him that look. He's just trying to think about what to do for the greater good]

[ineptus]

We'll figure something else out, okay? She's really adamant about me not getting her killed, so I can promise you it won't put us in danger. But please, I don't know what I'd do if I lost you!

[terci]

... [Noo... no Mabel no....]

Okay, okay. I'll try to think of some other solution, too.

[ineptus]

Thank you... [SIGH OF RELIEF. And also hugging him...] We'll figure something out that will benefit everyone that won't put any one of the three of us in danger. Definitely.

[terci]

[Aw okay he's hugging her back. She probably needed that hug, anyway.]

Yeah, I'm sure we'll figure out something.

You know, it's kind of weird and creepy that someone else just. Exploded today. [Creepy meaning scary as fuck. But Dipper's trying not to seem that bothered by it..]

[ineptus]

...yeah...it was kind of...scary? I mean not that I was scared or anything.

[Definitely not her.]

But I mean it probably scared everyone else pretty bad.

[terci]

Yeah, I mean if you didn't give a key to anyone and he didn't do anything then I'm almost positive it has to do with the VIPs. [He lets go of her and stays silent for a second.]

..unless he was Malik or Hiko's buddy. [Oh god that would be terrifying if buddies exploded out of the blue like that]

[ineptus]

[Dipper don't suggest that. She just...kind of awkwardly laughs, rubbing at her arm.]

N-nah. I'm sure they weren't buddies...I mean, buddies couldn't possibly just...e-explode out of the blue like that, right?

[terci]

P-probably not... but it's just a thought. [He'd hope not]

J-just a thought, yeah...

I bet it was the VIPs.

If it was, I hope it's just a one-time thing.

Same...but I don't think it will be. I mean...if they can blow you up at any time, and they're trying to kill everyone...
